Drupal modules and themes development

Our developers specialised in developing tailor-made themes and modules to extend Drupal’s capabilities. We combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of Drupal architecture, maintaining a good codebase following the PSR-12 guidelines.

A module is how Drupal grows

A Drupal platform is not a theme wrapped around a database. Content types, fields, workflows, and permissions live in the system. When the organisation needs a behaviour Drupal does not ship, the durable way to add it is a custom module that talks to the same APIs core uses: entities, plugins, services, routes, and configuration.

GeoNovation writes those modules for platforms that have to stay updateable. Display stays in the theme. Data stays in the entity model. Access is a policy, not a condition buried in a template. Configuration is exported, so a change can be reviewed and deployed the same way the rest of the site is.

Themes that present the model

A tailor-made theme is the public face of that model. It is also the interface editors meet every day. We build themes against Drupal's render pipeline, so a content type added later does not require a new template for every field, and a design change does not rewrite the data.

The codebase follows PSR-12. That is a practical standard, not a style preference: another developer, including the team you hand the platform to, can read the module, see where configuration lives, and change it without guessing.

  • Custom modules for workflows, integrations, and editorial rules that contributed projects do not cover cleanly.
  • Themes built on Drupal's render arrays, with the content model left intact.
  • Configuration exported and reviewed, so the site that launches is the site that can be redeployed.
  • PSR-12 PHP, Composer-managed dependencies, and a structure a programme team can maintain.

When this is the right brief

This is the work when the platform has to express the organisation: specific roles, a content model that is not a blog, languages, or an integration that must survive the next major version of Drupal. We are a Drupal Certified Partner. The same squad that designs the module stays through build and handover.

If the site is a brochure with a small editorial team, we will say so and point you at WordPress. If the platform is Drupal, the module and the theme are how it should be extended.

This work sits inside Drupal Development. Start a Drupal project — tell us the organisation, the platform, and the constraint.
